The minimum wage increases every year, and in some years it has even changed twice. Everyone is curious how much the national minimum wage in 2025 will be and what the gross and net rate will be. This information was announced in the Journal of Laws, we already know that the national minimum wage in 2025 will be PLN 4666 gross.

How much will the national minimum wage be in 2025?
The long-awaited national minimum wage of 2025 was announced in the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of 12 September 2024 on the amount of the minimum wage for work and the amount of the minimum hourly rate in 2025.
The national minimum wage for 2025 will be PLN 4666 gross and will apply from January 1, 2025 to the end of December 2025. This amount will therefore change only once and there will not be a double increase as was the case last year.
Setting an amount higher by PLN 366 compared to the minimum wage in the second half of 2024 is a response to the forecast inflation. This change, while beneficial for the lowest-paid employees, can be painful for small businesses, which may not be able to cope with the cost of hiring.
National minimum wage 2025 – higher than planned
The national minimum wage of 2025 , approved in the Regulation of the Council of Ministers, may have come as a surprise to some, as the gross amount of PLN 4666 turned out to be higher than initially assumed. All because of the change in the forecast inflation – the Minister of Finance changed the forecast from 4.1 per cent to 5 per cent, and the government confirmed this by adopting the draft budget act. Initially, it was planned that the minimum amount of remuneration for work would be PLN 4626 gross, but the increase in the forecast average annual inflation translated into the fact that the national minimum wage in 2025 will amount to PLN 4666 gross.
How much will the national minimum wage be net in 2025?
For employees, the most important thing is the net salary, i.e. how much they will receive “on hand”. People earning the lowest national wage (PLN 4666 gross), working full-time and not benefiting from reliefs will receive PLN 3510.92 net. For comparison, after the minimum wage was raised in July 2024, people receiving the minimum wage earned PLN 3261.53 net.
How much will the minimum hourly wage be in 2025?
The Regulation of the Council of Ministers also sets the minimum hourly rate for people working under civil law contracts. From 1 January 2025, a new, higher minimum hourly rate will apply, set at PLN 30.50 gross. This is an increase of PLN 2.40 compared to the rate applicable in the second half of 2024, which was PLN 28.10

An increase in the minimum wage contributes to improving the economic situation of the lowest-paid workers. When determining the amount of the minimum wage, factors such as the forecast price increase for the next year and real economic growth are taken into account. A gradual decline in inflation is expected in the coming years and it is difficult to predict what the minimum rate will be.
