Locksmith CV – what should it look like?
Your locksmith resume should be readable, concise, and contain the key information that recruiters expect. Here’s how to organize them effectively:
1. Personal data
At the very top, put your name, surname, position (e.g. locksmith), phone number and e-mail address.
2. Professional summary
This is a short section (3-4 sentences) where you highlight your most important qualifications and experience. Example:
“An experienced locksmith with 8 years of experience in the metallurgical industry. I specialize in metalworking, welding and assembly of steel structures. I have welding qualifications and experience in working in production and machine maintenance. I am thorough, reliable and ready for new challenges.”
3. Work experience
In this section, list your previous jobs in reverse chronological order (starting with the most recent), include: company name and period of employment, job title, main responsibilities, and achievements.
4. Skills
Highlight the key competencies you have. For example:
- metalworking (turning, milling, cutting, grinding);
- ability to read technical drawings;
- knowledge of welding techniques;
- knowledge of locksmith tools;
- operation of CNC machines;
- ability to work in a team.
If you have a welding license, SEP certificates, or a category B driving license – be sure to include them!
5. Education
Provide the last school or college you graduated from, and also add professional courses related to the locksmith industry.
6. Interests
Hobbies is an optional section, but you can enter what you are passionate about – it is a chance to interest the employer! In a locksmith’s CV , hobbies related to the industry (e.g. DIY, mechanics) will be particularly valuable.
7. Consent to the processing of personal data
Remember that the GDPR clause is a mandatory element of every CV, so you cannot skip it.

Cover letter locksmith
A locksmith cover letter should be concise but specific – highlighting your experience, technical skills, and qualities that make you an ideal candidate. Here are some tips on how to write it:
- Highlight your experience – write how many years you have been working in the profession and what you specialize in (e.g. welding, metalworking).
- List key skills – e.g. using locksmith tools, reading technical drawings, precision at work.
- Show commitment – you can mention that you follow the health and safety rules, care about the quality of workmanship and are willing to develop your skills.
- Adapt the cover letter to the job offer – refer to the requirements in the advertisement, e.g. if the company expects you to know TIG welding and you can do it – indicate it.
- End on a positive note – e.g. “I’d love to meet you for an interview and tell you more about my experience”.
Remember to keep the letter short (maximum one page) and well formatted – readability also matters!
